Wilsonville Wildcats Softball 0-4 Tualatin
The Wildcats couldn't solve Tualatin's pitching Monday afternoon, falling 4-0 in a non-league softball matchup that highlighted areas for improvement early in the spring campaign.
Wilsonville managed just scattered hits against a Timberwolves squad that controlled the game from the opening inning. Tualatin built their lead methodically, capitalizing on timely hitting while keeping the Wildcats off balance at the plate throughout the seven-inning contest.
The loss drops Wilsonville to 1-2 on the young season as coach staff continues working with players on offensive timing and situational hitting. Despite the shutout, the Wildcats showed defensive improvements from their season opener, limiting Tualatin's scoring opportunities in several key situations.
"We're still finding our rhythm as a team," noted the coaching staff after the game. "These early season matchups are valuable learning experiences."
Wilsonville returns home later this week looking to bounce back and even their record. The Wildcats will focus on plate discipline and aggressive base running as they prepare for upcoming league play that begins next month.
