How We Work

Scores come from multiple sources. Our primary channel is a network of coaches across Portland Metro who report final scores directly to us. We also pull data from the Oregon School Activities Association (OSAA) and cross-reference results when available.

Scores are posted as quickly as possible after games end — often within minutes of the final buzzer. If a score is reported by a single source, we note it as unverified until we can confirm it.

Game recaps on Portland Sports Hub are AI-assisted. We use the box score, game context, and season data to generate a recap of what happened. Every recap is reviewed for factual accuracy before publication — the score, teams, and key details are verified against our source data.

We believe in transparency about this process. AI helps us cover more games than a traditional newsroom could, which means more teams get coverage — not just the ones with big followings.

Schedule data is sourced from official school athletic calendars, OSAA, and direct coordination with athletic directors and coaches. We update schedules regularly as games are added, postponed, or rescheduled.

Game times and locations are verified against official sources whenever possible. If a game time seems off, check the school's official athletic page for confirmation, and let us know so we can fix it.

Program and registration information is sourced directly from the organizations that run them — recreation departments, Boys and Girls Clubs, Little League programs, travel teams, and more. We verify key details (dates, ages, costs) against the organization's own website or registration page.

Organizations can list their programs for free through our program listing form. We do not accept payment for program placement or prioritization.

We take accuracy seriously. If you spot an error — a wrong score, incorrect game time, outdated registration info — please contact us or email info@portlandsportshub.com. We correct errors as quickly as possible, typically within hours.

We don't silently fix mistakes. When a significant correction is made to a published score or recap, we note it.

Portland Sports Hub is an independent community sports platform. We are not affiliated with any school, school district, league, or governing body. Our editorial decisions are made independently. Advertisers and sponsors have no influence over our coverage.
