Wilsonville defeated Canby 1-0 in a defensive softball battle at home Tuesday evening. The Wildcats from Wilsonville, Oregon, who compete in the Northwest Oregon Conference (5A), manufactured just enough offense to secure the narrow victory in non-league action. The game showcased stellar pitching from both sides, with runners at a premium throughout the contest. Wilsonville's ability to capitalize on their lone scoring opportunity proved to be the difference maker against a stubborn Canby squad that refused to fold. The victory improved the Wildcats to 22-7 overall this season, maintaining their strong momentum as they continue to build chemistry heading into the postseason. With their conference record standing at 14-2, Wilsonville has positioned themselves well for tournament seeding. The Wildcats demonstrated the type of gritty, small-ball approach that often translates well in playoff scenarios. As the regular season winds down, games like these provide valuable experience in high-pressure situations where every pitch and every at-bat carries significant weight.
