Beaverton Beavers Girls Soccer 2-3 Westview

Westview handed Beaverton a 3-2 defeat in a girls soccer match Thursday evening, leaving the Beavers on the wrong side of a tight Metro League (6A) contest at home in Beaverton, Oregon. The loss drops Beaverton to 4-6-1 overall and 1-1 in conference play as the team works to find its footing in the second half of the league schedule.

The Beavers showed enough quality to stay in the game, matching Westview goal for goal through stretches of the match and finding the net twice. But the Wildcats ultimately proved more clinical, converting the decisive third goal to seal the result and hand Beaverton its second league loss of the fall.

With conference play heating up and several league dates remaining, the Beavers have little time to dwell on the result. Beaverton will need a strong response in its next outing to stay within reach of a postseason position. The coming week will be an important test of the team's resolve.
