Forest Grove Vikings Football 46-54 Liberty

Liberty handed Forest Grove a 54-46 defeat in a high-scoring 5A-SD3 Special District 3 football game Friday night in Forest Grove, Oregon, dropping the Vikings to 4-4 on the season. The loss stings in a game that saw both teams light up the scoreboard, with Forest Grove's offense keeping pace for much of the night before Liberty pulled away for the eight-point victory. The Vikings now stand at 1-3 in conference play, making each remaining league game critical if Forest Grove hopes to salvage its district standing before the postseason picture comes into focus. Giving up 54 points will raise questions for the Viking defense heading into next week, though the offense showed it can compete in a shootout environment. Forest Grove will need to regroup quickly and find answers on both sides of the ball. The Vikings return to action next week looking to bounce back and keep their playoff hopes alive.
