Forest Grove Vikings Football 19-29 Canby

Canby handed Forest Grove a 29-19 defeat in 5A-SD3 Special District 3 football on Friday night at Forest Grove, Oregon, moving the Vikings to 4-5 on the season. The loss stings in the league standings, as Forest Grove now sits at 1-4 in conference play with the postseason picture growing increasingly complicated. Canby controlled enough of the game to pull away by ten points, though the Vikings showed some fight in keeping the score within reach. Forest Grove entered the night at 4-4 and needed a win to keep playoff hopes alive, but Canby proved to be the stronger side on this Halloween eve. The Vikings could not find the defensive stops necessary to slow a Canby offense that finished with 29 points. Forest Grove will need to regroup quickly and finish the regular season on a strong note. The Vikings return to action next week looking to close out the year with momentum and give their program something to build on heading into the offseason.
