Roosevelt Roughriders Girls Volleyball 0-3 Sunset

Sunset handed Roosevelt a 3-0 defeat in girls volleyball Saturday, sending the Roughriders home from Beaverton with their fourth loss of the fall. Roosevelt, based in Portland, Oregon, and competing in the 6A-1 Portland Interscholastic League, entered the non-league road matchup with a strong 12-3 record and plenty of momentum built over a productive regular season. Sunset controlled all three sets, leaving Roosevelt without a set win on the afternoon. The Roughriders, now 12-4 on the season, will need to regroup and sharpen their serve-receive and transition game before their next outing. Road losses against quality non-league opponents like Sunset can sting in the moment, but they also expose areas for growth at exactly the right time of year. With the postseason approaching, Roosevelt has the record and the experience to make a meaningful playoff run. How the team responds to this setback in the coming week will be worth watching closely.
