St. Helens Lions Boys Soccer 0-8 Centennial

Centennial handed St. Helens a tough 8-0 defeat Thursday evening in a Northwest Oregon Conference (5A) boys soccer match played on the road in the Portland Metro area, dropping the Lions from St. Helens, Oregon to 0-10 on the season. The Eagles controlled the contest from the opening whistle, building a commanding advantage that St. Helens was unable to answer across the full 80 minutes. Playing without a box score available, the margin alone tells the story of a night when Centennial's attack found consistent success against the Lions defense. St. Helens now stands 0-3 in conference play after the loss, with the postseason window narrowing as the regular season winds toward its conclusion. The Lions will need to find a way to tighten up defensively and create sustained pressure on the offensive end if they hope to finish the year on a stronger note. Their next opportunity comes later this month, and the program will look to regroup and compete hard the rest of the way.
