Southridge Skyhawks Softball 6-9 Barlow
The Skyhawks couldn't quite find their rhythm in Friday's softball home opener, dropping a 9-6 decision to visiting Barlow at Southridge High School. Despite putting up six runs against the Bruins, the hosts couldn't overcome early defensive struggles that allowed Barlow to build a commanding lead. The loss moves Southridge to 0-1-1 on the young season after opening with a tie earlier this week. While the offensive production showed promise with six runs crossing the plate, the Skyhawks will need to tighten up defensively to compete in what promises to be a competitive spring campaign. The non-league matchup provided valuable early-season experience against quality competition, giving coaches plenty to work with as they prepare for upcoming contests. With league play still ahead, there's ample time for adjustments. Southridge returns to action next week as they continue building chemistry and working toward their first win of the 2026 season.
