Scappoose Indians Boys Soccer 2-0 Astoria

Scappoose boys soccer traveled to Astoria Thursday night and came away with a clean 2-0 shutout victory, strengthening its grip on the 4A-1 Cowapa League standings. The Indians, based in Scappoose, Oregon, made the trip to the Oregon Coast and delivered one of their most complete performances of the fall. The shutout win pushed Scappoose to 6-6-3 overall and an impressive 6-1 in league play, a conference record that puts them firmly in contention as the postseason approaches. Coming in at 5-6-3, the Indians needed a result on the road and delivered, keeping Astoria off the scoreboard entirely while finding the back of the net twice. Earning road shutouts late in the season against league opponents is no small task, and Thursday's performance showed a team building momentum at exactly the right time. Scappoose will look to carry that momentum forward as the regular season winds down and playoff positioning comes into sharper focus.
