Sam Barlow Bruins Boys Soccer 1-9 Lakeridge

Lakeridge handed Sam Barlow a tough 9-1 defeat in boys soccer Tuesday evening, sending the Bruins home from Lake Oswego with their second loss of the young fall season. The Sam Barlow squad, representing Gresham, Oregon, and the Mt. Hood Conference (6A), made the trip across the metro area for this non-league contest but could not find their footing against a Lakeridge side that controlled the match from early on. The Bruins did find the back of the net once, a small positive to build on, but the defensive side of the ball proved to be a significant challenge against a high-powered Lakeridge attack. Sam Barlow drops to 0-2 on the season with the result. The early schedule has presented back-to-back difficult tests, and the coaching staff will look to use this stretch as a learning opportunity. The Bruins will return home to Gresham next and will be eager to get into the win column in front of their home crowd.
