Nelson Hawks Girls Soccer 8-0 Gresham

Nelson dominated from the opening whistle Wednesday, cruising to an 8-0 girls soccer victory over Gresham on the road in Mt. Hood Conference (6A) play. The Eagles from Happy Valley, Oregon, left no doubt in this lopsided league matchup, piling up eight goals while shutting out the Gophers completely. The commanding win improves Nelson's overall record to 8-2-1 on the season and moves the Eagles to 1-2 in conference play, a mark that still leaves room to climb in the standings as the league schedule heats up. Shutting out an opponent by eight goals is a strong statement, and the Nelson defense was just as impressive as the offense, keeping a clean sheet throughout. With the season in its final stretch and conference positioning on the line, the Eagles will look to carry this momentum into their next match and continue building toward a postseason push.
