Milwaukie Mustangs Softball 4-7 Liberty
The Mustangs couldn't quite find their rhythm in Thursday's season-opening softball contest, falling to Liberty 7-4 at home in a competitive non-league matchup.
Milwaukie showed flashes of offensive potential throughout the game, putting four runs on the board against a solid Liberty squad. However, the Patriots managed to build enough separation to secure the road victory and hand the Mustangs their first loss of the young campaign.
The seven-run output from Liberty proved to be the difference maker in what was otherwise an evenly contested game between two programs looking to establish early momentum in the 2026 spring season.
While the result wasn't what Milwaukie had hoped for in their home opener, there were encouraging signs for head coach and the team moving forward. Season openers often reveal areas for improvement, and the Mustangs will have plenty of opportunities to build on this experience.
Milwaukie will look to bounce back and even their record as they continue their spring schedule in the coming weeks.
