Glencoe Crimson Tide Softball 8-11 Sherwood
The Crimson Hawks couldn't quite match Sherwood's offensive output Tuesday night, falling 11-8 in a slugfest at home. Despite putting eight runs on the board, Glencoe softball found themselves on the wrong end of a back-and-forth league contest that featured plenty of offensive fireworks from both sides.
The loss drops the Crimson Hawks to 8-4 overall and 5-4 in conference play, keeping them firmly in the mix for postseason positioning with the regular season winding down. Both teams showed they could swing the bat effectively, combining for 19 runs in what became a pitcher's nightmare and a fan's delight.
While the defeat stings, Glencoe has shown throughout the spring that they can compete with anyone in the league. The offensive production against a quality Sherwood squad demonstrates the kind of firepower that could serve them well in crucial upcoming games. The Crimson Hawks will look to bounce back and get back in the win column as they continue their push toward the playoffs.
