Roosevelt Roughriders Girls Soccer 1-7 Franklin

Franklin handed Roosevelt a 7-1 defeat in girls soccer on Tuesday evening, as the Roughriders fell on the road in Portland, Oregon, in 6A-1 Portland Interscholastic League play. The loss drops Roosevelt to 0-13-1 overall and 0-6 in league competition as the season winds toward its close. Franklin controlled the match from early on, building a commanding advantage that Roosevelt was unable to overcome despite finding the net once. The Roughriders' lone goal was a bright spot in an otherwise difficult night against a Franklin side that proved sharp and relentless in the attack. Roosevelt has faced a steep climb all season in a competitive PIL field, and Tuesday's road environment at Franklin only added to the challenge. With the regular season nearing its end, Roosevelt will look to finish with purpose, using remaining games as an opportunity to build chemistry and confidence heading into the offseason. The Roughriders return to action later this week.
