Westview Wildcats Football 10-7 Mountainside

It wasn't pretty, but the Westview Wildcats found a way to get it done Friday night, edging Mountainside 10-7 in a hard-fought defensive battle. The Wildcats controlled just enough of the game to pull out the victory, leaning on a stout defense that kept Mountainside's offense in check when it mattered most.

The winning margin came down to a single score difference, and the Wildcats made it stand up all the way to the final whistle. Mountainside made things interesting late, but Westview's defense rose to the occasion and slammed the door shut, preserving what turned out to be a gutsy, grinding win.

With the victory, the Wildcats improve to 3-2 on the season, a welcome bounce-back after sitting at .500 heading into the night. This one won't end up in any highlight reels, but the kids showed some real toughness out there, and right now, that matters just as much as the style points.
