Valley Catholic Valiants Girls Volleyball 3-2 Marist Catholic

Valley Catholic survived a five-set battle to open its volleyball season Thursday night, defeating Marist Catholic 3-2 in a non-league home match in Beaverton, Oregon. The Valiants, who compete in the Lewis & Clark League (3A), needed every set to put away the Spartans, a result that speaks to both the competitiveness of the matchup and the character of a team just finding its footing in 2026. Coming out of the gate against a fellow Catholic school program, Valley Catholic showed enough resilience to close out the deciding fifth set and secure the victory. Winning a tight match like this early in the year can build confidence and chemistry in ways a comfortable victory rarely can. The Valiants move to 1-0 on the season and will look to carry that momentum into their next outing as Lewis & Clark League play approaches. Keep an eye on this group as the roster continues to gel through the early weeks of the fall schedule.
