Valley Catholic Valiants Girls Soccer 2-1 Astoria

A hard-fought 2-1 home victory over Astoria on Thursday gave Valley Catholic girls soccer a much-needed boost in the Lewis & Clark League (3A), with the Valiants improving to 5-5-1 overall and 3-3 in conference at their Beaverton, Oregon home field. The win snapped a stretch of inconsistency for Valley Catholic, which entered the match sitting at 4-5-1 on the season and looking to reclaim footing in the standings. The Valiants held on down the stretch after Astoria trimmed the lead to 2-1, showing resolve that has been building through a competitive fall schedule. With the Lewis & Clark League playoff picture still taking shape, every conference result carries weight, and Thursday's narrow win keeps Valley Catholic in the mix as the regular season winds toward its final weeks. The Valiants will look to build on this momentum when they return to action next week, with the postseason window closing fast.
