Valley Catholic Valiants Boys Soccer 7-0 Astoria

Seven goals on the road told the story Thursday, as Valley Catholic's boys soccer team rolled past Astoria 7-0 in a Lewis & Clark League (3A) contest played on the Oregon coast. The Valiants, based in Beaverton, Oregon, turned in a commanding performance from the opening whistle, keeping Astoria off the scoreboard entirely while piling up one of the program's most lopsided results of the fall campaign. The shutout victory moves Valley Catholic to 9-1-1 overall and 4-1 in league play, keeping the Valiants firmly in the mix as the postseason picture sharpens across the 3A classification. Dominating away from home against a conference opponent carries extra weight at this point in the schedule, and Thursday's result demonstrates the kind of depth and consistency that could carry Valley Catholic deep into the playoffs. The Valiants will look to build on the momentum when they return to action next week.
