Sunset Apollos Girls Soccer 5-1 Southridge

Five goals were more than enough as Sunset girls soccer dominated Southridge 5-1 on Thursday in a Metro League (6A) home contest in Beaverton, Oregon. The Apollos controlled the match from start to finish, turning a league game into a statement performance that gives them momentum heading into the back half of the regular season. The lopsided result was a welcome bounce-back after Sunset entered Thursday sitting at 1-1 in conference play, and the victory keeps the Apollos in the thick of the Metro League race. With the win, Sunset improves to 8-2 overall and 2-1 in league, a strong position as the schedule grows more demanding. Southridge, for its part, had little answer for the Apollos' attack on the afternoon. The depth and offensive output on display suggest Sunset has the firepower to compete with anyone remaining on the schedule. The Apollos will look to build on this performance and string together league wins in the coming weeks.
