St. Helens Lions Softball 9-1 Henley

St. Helens defeated Henley 9-1 in a dominant softball performance to open the 2026 season. The Lions of St. Helens, Oregon, who compete in the Northwest Oregon Conference (5A), made an impressive statement in their non-league home opener against the visiting Hornets.
The eight-run margin of victory showcased St. Helens' offensive firepower and defensive execution in what proved to be a one-sided affair. The Lions controlled the game from early on, building a substantial lead that put the contest out of reach for Henley.
This commanding victory gives St. Helens momentum as they begin their campaign with a 1-0 record. The Lions demonstrated the kind of balanced attack that could serve them well throughout the spring season, both in non-league play and when Northwest Oregon Conference competition begins.
St. Helens will look to build on this strong start as they continue their 2026 schedule. The early-season performance suggests the Lions have the tools to compete effectively in what promises to be another competitive year of high school softball in the Portland Metro area.
