Scappoose Indians Girls Soccer 2-0 Astoria

Scappoose kept its Northwest Oregon Conference (5A) record spotless Tuesday, shutting out host Astoria 2-0 in a girls soccer road victory that pushed the Indians to 6-2-1 on the season. The win came away from Scappoose, Oregon, and it was anything but routine, with Scappoose having to earn every minute against the Fishermen on their home turf. The Indians have now gone 5-0 in conference play, a mark that puts them in a strong position as the postseason window begins to take shape. Holding Astoria scoreless speaks to a defensive unit that has been increasingly stingy in league games, and the two goals provided just enough cushion to make it comfortable by the final whistle. With conference play nearing its critical stretch, Scappoose will look to build on the momentum of this clean sheet and maintain the consistency that has defined its league schedule so far. The Indians return to action later this week.
