Sandy Pioneers Girls Soccer 8-0 St. Helens

Eight goals and a clean sheet on the road told the story Tuesday night, as Sandy's girls soccer team rolled past St. Helens 8-0 in a 5A-1 Northwest Oregon Conference matchup played in St. Helens. The result pushes the Sandy, Oregon squad to 12-2 overall and a perfect 4-0 in league play, firmly planting them near the top of the conference standings.

The Pioneers wasted little time asserting themselves, building what became an insurmountable advantage against the Lions. Holding St. Helens scoreless throughout the contest, Sandy's defensive unit was just as impressive as its attack, combining for a dominant all-around performance away from home.

The lopsided margin is a statement victory for a team that entered the night already carrying an 11-2 record and genuine playoff aspirations. With the conference race heating up and the postseason approaching, Sandy appears to be hitting its stride at exactly the right time. The Pioneers' next test will be worth watching closely.
