Roosevelt Roughriders Football 8-41 Lincoln

Lincoln handed Roosevelt a lopsided 41-8 defeat in Portland Interscholastic League (6A) football Friday night at Roosevelt's home field in Portland, Oregon. The Roughriders, coming in at 3-1 on the season, could not find answers against a Cardinals squad that controlled the game from early on, building a lead that proved insurmountable by the final whistle. The 33-point margin was a tough result for a Roosevelt team that had shown real promise through its first four games. Roosevelt's offense managed to put points on the board, but the defense struggled to contain Lincoln's attack throughout the evening. The loss drops the Roughriders to 3-2 overall and 2-2 in league play, leaving them in a tight spot in the PIL standings as the second half of the regular season approaches. Roosevelt will need to regroup quickly and find its footing again when it returns to action next week, with playoff positioning still very much on the line.
