Roosevelt Roughriders Boys Soccer 0-1 Ida B. Wells

Ida B. Wells edged Roosevelt 1-0 in a Portland Interscholastic League (6A) boys soccer match played Tuesday in Portland, Oregon, handing the Rough Riders a narrow home defeat. A single goal was all it took for the visiting Guardians to claim the league points, leaving Roosevelt on the wrong side of a tight contest that could have gone either way on a different day. The loss drops Roosevelt to 2-10-1 overall and 1-3 in league play, a stretch of results that reflects how competitive the PIL 6A landscape has been this fall. Despite the difficult record, a home game against a conference opponent always carries weight, and the Rough Riders had a chance to build some momentum heading into the final weeks of the season. Roosevelt will need to regroup quickly and find a way to put the ball in the net, as the team looks ahead to its next opportunity to pick up a crucial league result.
