David Douglas Scots Football 14-20 Putnam

Putnam came to Portland, Oregon and left with a 20-14 victory over David Douglas in a non-league high school football game played Friday night at David Douglas High School. The Scots, competing in the Mt. Hood Conference (6A), gave the visiting Bulldogs a genuine fight before falling short in the final minutes. David Douglas controlled enough of the contest to make this one competitive, keeping the margin to six points through the final whistle. The Scots had opportunities to pull even but could not find the breakthrough they needed against a Putnam squad that executed when it mattered most. The loss drops David Douglas to 0-4 on the season. Despite the result, the effort on home turf showed signs of a group that continues to compete hard regardless of the scoreboard. The Scots will look to pick up their first win as league play progresses. Their next opportunity comes next week, and the program will use this close defeat as a building block heading forward.
