Portland Christian Royals Boys Soccer 4-2 Columbia Christian

Four goals were enough Friday night as Portland Christian's boys soccer team defeated crosstown rival Columbia Christian 4-2 in a Northwest League (2A) home contest played in Portland, Oregon. The victory pushes the Royals to 5-4 overall and a perfect 3-0 in conference play, a strong league mark that keeps them firmly in the mix as the postseason approaches. Columbia Christian arrived as a familiar foe, and Friday's match carried the extra weight of a league game, making each goal that much more meaningful. Portland Christian built a multi-goal lead and held on despite a Columbia Christian push that made things interesting late. The Royals' ability to find the net four times shows an offense capable of putting pressure on any opponent in the Northwest League. With conference play now a clear strength for Portland Christian, the Royals will look to carry this momentum into the coming weeks and solidify their standing before the playoff picture comes into full focus.
