Nelson Hawks Football 20-19 Central Catholic

A one-point road victory Friday night kept Nelson football rolling, as the Eagles escaped Central Catholic 20-19 in a Mt. Hood Conference (6A) battle that came down to the final moments. Nelson, based in Happy Valley, Oregon, improved to 6-1 overall and a perfect 3-0 in league play with the hard-fought result. Central Catholic made things uncomfortable until the very end, and the Eagles had to earn every point to secure the slim margin. Road wins against quality opponents like Central Catholic carry extra weight this time of year, and Nelson's ability to grind out a victory in a tight game speaks to the program's resilience. The Eagles entered the night at 5-1 and leave with their best record of the season, positioning themselves as a serious contender in the conference standings. Nelson will look to carry this momentum forward as the regular season winds toward its final weeks and postseason positioning becomes the primary focus.
