Mountainside Mavericks Boys Soccer 2-2 Sunset

A late equalizer kept the scoreline level Monday evening, as Mountainside boys soccer and Sunset played to a 2-2 draw at Sunset High School. The Mavericks, representing Beaverton, Oregon in the 6A-2 Metro League, came away with one hard-earned point in a league contest that neither side could fully close out. The result moves Mountainside to 6-3-4 overall and 1-2 in conference play, leaving the Mavericks with work to do in the standings as the regular season heads toward its final stretch. A road draw against a Metro League opponent is not without value, though the conference record underscores the urgency of picking up wins in upcoming league fixtures. Both squads traded goals throughout the match before settling on the 2-2 final, a result that will feel like a missed opportunity given Mountainside's overall quality this fall. The Mavericks return home next with an eye on climbing back into league contention before the postseason window closes.
