Milwaukie Mustangs Girls Soccer 5-0 St. Helens

Milwaukie's girls soccer team shut out visiting St. Helens 5-0 on Wednesday evening, kicking off Northwest Oregon Conference (5A) play in dominant fashion at home in Milwaukie, Oregon. The convincing victory moved the Mustangs to 5-3-1 on the season and 1-0 in conference play. After entering the match at 4-3-1 overall, Milwaukie wasted little time making a statement in its league debut, finding the back of the net five times while keeping St. Helens off the scoresheet entirely. The clean sheet speaks to the defensive organization the Mustangs brought into the contest, and the five-goal output signals a potent attack capable of competing at the 5A level. Conference play in the Northwest Oregon Conference is rarely forgiving, and getting off on the right foot with a shutout win gives Milwaukie real momentum heading into the meat of the schedule. The Mustangs will look to build on this performance and continue climbing in the conference standings in the weeks ahead.
