Franklin Lightning Boys Soccer 1-7 Lincoln

Lincoln handed Franklin a lopsided 7-1 result Wednesday in PIL (6A) boys soccer action, dropping the Quakers to 8-2-1 on the season at their home field in Portland, Oregon. The loss, Franklin's first at home this fall, pushes their conference record to 2-1 after a difficult evening against a Lincoln side that found the net early and often. Franklin had entered the match riding a strong overall record, with just one prior loss heading into the night, making the margin a tough pill to swallow for players and families alike. Lincoln controlled the pace throughout, and Franklin's lone goal offered a brief bright spot in an otherwise challenging contest. The Quakers will need to regroup quickly, focusing on defensive organization and finishing efficiency as league play intensifies. Franklin's overall body of work this season remains impressive, and one difficult result does not erase what has been a strong fall campaign. The Quakers return to action next week with an opportunity to bounce back in conference play.
