Lincoln Cardinals Girls Soccer 5-0 Franklin

Five goals and a clean sheet Wednesday night pushed Lincoln's girls soccer program past Franklin 5-0 in Portland Interscholastic League (6A) play at home in Portland, Oregon. The Cardinals controlled the match from start to finish, denying the Quakers any real foothold in what turned into a dominant league performance. The shutout reflected Lincoln's defensive organization as much as its attacking output, with five different scoring contributions keeping Franklin's goalkeeper busy throughout the evening. The victory moves Lincoln to 8-3-1 on the season and 2-1 in league play, a timely result as the Cardinals look to build momentum in the PIL standings during the final stretch of the regular season. Franklin, always a competitive fixture in Portland high school soccer, could not find an answer for Lincoln's pressure. With league games at a premium this time of year, tonight's three points carry real weight in the standings picture. Lincoln will look to carry this form into its next matchup and tighten its grip on a postseason berth.
