Ida B. Wells Guardians Softball 13-9 Clackamas
The bats came alive Monday afternoon as Ida B. Wells softball put together their most explosive offensive performance of the young season, defeating visiting Clackamas 13-9 in a high-scoring non-league affair.
After a challenging start to the 2026 campaign, the Guardians found their rhythm at the plate against a scrappy Clackamas squad that refused to go quietly. The visitors kept pace early, trading runs in what became a back-and-forth slugfest that saw 22 total runs cross the plate.
The victory provides a much-needed boost for Ida B. Wells, improving to 2-3 on the season after dropping three of their first four contests. Monday's offensive outburst suggests the Guardians may have found the consistency they've been searching for at the plate.
While the defensive side showed room for improvement in allowing nine runs, the ability to outscore opponents will serve the team well as they navigate the remainder of their non-league schedule before league play intensifies.
Ida B. Wells will look to build on this momentum in their next outing.
