Ida B. Wells Guardians Girls Soccer 2-2 Tigard

A pair of goals apiece left neither side satisfied Tuesday, as the Ida B. Wells girls soccer team and Tigard played to a 2-2 tie to open the 2026 fall season. The Falcons, representing Portland, Oregon, in the Portland Interscholastic League (6A), hosted the Tigers in a non-league contest that gave both programs an early look at where they stand heading into league play. Wells found the net twice and showed enough quality to push a Tigard squad that came in as a legitimate measuring-stick opponent. The equalizer preserved a point for the Falcons, who avoided a loss in their season debut and leave the opener with some encouraging signs alongside clear areas to sharpen. Wells now sits at 0-0-1 on the young season. The Falcons will look to build on Tuesday's effort and carry that competitive momentum into their next matchup as they work toward positioning themselves for a strong PIL campaign this fall.
