Grant Generals Boys Soccer 2-0 Westview

Grant opened its 2026 boys soccer season with a clean sheet, defeating visiting Westview 2-0 on Tuesday at home in Portland, Oregon. The Generals, members of the Portland Interscholastic League (6A), used the non-league matchup to set an early tone heading into what promises to be a competitive fall campaign. Westview came in as a capable opponent from the Southwest corner of the metro area, making the shutout win all the more encouraging for Grant. The Generals found the net twice while keeping Westview off the board entirely, a combination that any coach would welcome in a season-opening performance. Solid defensive organization and finishing when opportunities arose gave Grant plenty to build on as the PIL schedule approaches. The Generals now sit at 1-0 on the young season. Grant will look to carry this momentum forward as league play draws closer and the competition stiffens within the PIL.
