Gaston Greyhounds Football 14-36 Neah-Kah-Nie

Neah-Kah-Nie pulled away for a 36-14 victory over Gaston in a 6A/5A/4A/3A/2A/1A league football game played Friday night on the Pirates' home field, well north of Gaston, Oregon. The Greyhounds couldn't find enough traction against a Neah-Kah-Nie squad that controlled the game from early on, with the 22-point margin reflecting the hosts' dominance on both sides of the ball. Gaston did find the end zone twice, showing some fight in what was otherwise a difficult evening for the visitors. The loss drops Gaston to 0-6 overall and 0-3 in league play as the Greyhounds work through a challenging first season. With the regular season winding down, Gaston will look to use remaining games as building blocks for younger players to gain varsity experience. The Greyhounds return home next week with an opportunity to compete hard and close the season on a more competitive note.
