McDaniel Mountain Lions Football 16-44 Franklin

Franklin handed host McDaniel a 44-16 football loss Friday night in Portland, Oregon, in PIL (6A) league play, dropping the Eagles to 0-4 on the season. The visiting Quakers arrived at McDaniel with momentum and showed it early, building a lead that the Eagles could not overcome despite reaching the scoreboard themselves. McDaniel's 16 points offered some encouraging signs in a difficult stretch, a reminder that the offense has shown capacity to move the ball. Franklin's 44-point output, however, reflected the gap McDaniel must close as the league schedule deepens. At 0-4 overall and 0-4 in conference, the Eagles face the challenge of finding consistency on both sides of the ball against seasoned PIL competition. The margin is wide, but each game represents an opportunity to develop younger players and establish the habits that sustainable programs are built on.
