Forest Grove Vikings Girls Soccer 1-0 Century

A single goal was all Forest Grove needed Wednesday night, as the Vikings girls soccer team shut out Century 1-0 at home in Forest Grove, Oregon, opening Pacific Conference (6A) league play with a hard-earned result. The victory moves Forest Grove to 6-3-1 overall and 1-0 in conference, a strong start to the league slate after entering the match at 5-3-1. Century had no answer for a Vikings defense that held firm throughout, keeping a clean sheet in what was a tight, low-scoring contest. Winning a conference opener by any margin carries weight, and Forest Grove will look to build on the momentum this result provides. The Vikings have now won two of their last three matches and appear to be hitting their stride at the right point in the season. Forest Grove returns to action later this week with a chance to extend its conference win streak and continue climbing in the Pacific Conference standings.
