Forest Grove Vikings Boys Soccer 2-1 Sherwood

A hard-fought 2-1 victory gave Forest Grove boys soccer a much-needed league win Thursday evening, as the Vikings defeated Sherwood at home in Forest Grove, Oregon, in a Pacific Conference (6A) matchup. The result snapped a stretch of inconsistency for a squad that entered the night sitting at 3-5-3 on the season. With the win, Forest Grove moves to 4-5-3 overall and 1-1 in conference play, keeping their postseason hopes alive as league competition heats up. Playing in front of their home crowd, the Vikings found a way to grind out the result against a Sherwood side that made things difficult until the final whistle. The narrow margin reflected how competitive the Pacific Conference has been this fall, with small moments often deciding outcomes. Forest Grove will look to build on this momentum as they continue conference play, knowing that consistency over the next few weeks could be the difference between a playoff berth and watching from the sideline.
