Colton Vikings Football 28-44 Santiam

Santiam handed Colton a 44-28 defeat in Friday night's league football game, dropping the Colts to 4-2 overall on the season. The Colton, Oregon squad made the trip to face the Wolverines but couldn't match Santiam's offensive output in a game that stayed competitive in the scoring column despite the final margin. The loss moves Colton to 2-2 in conference play, putting the Colts in a tighter position as the league race enters its final stretch. Santiam's ability to sustain drives and push the score to 44 points proved to be the difference on a chilly October evening. Colton's offense showed some life, reaching the 28-point mark, but the defense was unable to slow down a Santiam attack that stayed hot throughout. With several league games still remaining on the schedule, the Colts will need to regroup quickly and string together wins to remain in postseason contention. Colton returns home next week with plenty at stake.
