Glencoe Crimson Tide Baseball 5-7 TBD
The Crimson Tide fell just short in their home opener Tuesday, dropping a 7-5 decision to visiting Boulder, Colorado in non-league baseball action. Glencoe showed fight against the out-of-state competition but couldn't quite complete what would have been an impressive season-opening victory. The Crimson Tide managed to plate five runs against Boulder's pitching staff, suggesting the offensive pieces are in place for what many expect to be a competitive campaign. However, defensive lapses and timely hitting from the Colorado visitors proved to be the difference in a back-and-forth contest at Glencoe's diamond. Despite the loss, there were plenty of positives for head coach to build upon as league play approaches. The early-season matchup against quality non-league competition should serve the Crimson Tide well as they prepare for what promises to be a challenging conference schedule. Glencoe will look to even their record when they return to action later this week, using Tuesday's narrow defeat as motivation heading into their next opportunity.
