Sunset Apollos Girls Volleyball 2-3 Central Catholic

Central Catholic claimed a hard-fought five-set victory over Sunset in girls volleyball on Saturday, handing the visitors a 3-2 defeat in a non-league matchup played in Portland. Sunset, based in Beaverton, Oregon, and competing in the 6A-2 Metro League, dropped the road contest despite pushing the match to a fifth set. The result moves Sunset to 19-14 on the season, with a 4-6 record in Metro League play. While this game carried no conference weight, the competitive showing against a tough Central Catholic program offered some encouraging signs for a Sunset squad that has navigated a demanding schedule this fall. Taking a ranked opponent to five sets on the road is no small task, and the experience gained in a pressure situation like this could serve the Apollos well down the stretch. Sunset will look to carry that momentum forward as the Metro League slate continues and the team eyes a stronger finish to close out the 2026 campaign.
