Canby Cougars Softball 23-10 Bend
The Canby softball team turned a road trip to Central Oregon into an offensive showcase, overwhelming Bend 23-10 in non-league action Tuesday. The Cougars' bats came alive in spectacular fashion, collecting their first victory of the young season after an opening loss.
Canby's explosive offense produced runs in bunches against the Lava Bears, with the 23-run outburst marking one of the highest single-game totals in recent program history. The road environment didn't faze the Cougars, who took control early and maintained their momentum throughout the contest.
The victory evens Canby's record at 1-1 as they continue to find their rhythm in the early portion of the schedule. Head coach and players will undoubtedly take confidence from the offensive explosion, though they'll also look to tighten up defensively after allowing 10 runs.
With their bats heating up and early-season jitters behind them, the Cougars return home looking to build on this dominant performance as league play approaches on the horizon.
