Wilsonville Wildcats Girls Soccer 0-1 Canby

A single goal was all Canby needed Thursday, as the Cougars defeated Wilsonville 1-0 in a Northwest Oregon Conference (5A) girls soccer match played in Wilsonville, Oregon. The loss drops the Wildcats to 2-7-2 on the season and 1-1 in conference play, a tough result for a squad still searching for consistency in the league standings. Canby's lone goal proved to be the difference in what was a tightly contested matchup, with Wilsonville unable to find an answer on the offensive end despite playing on home turf. The Wildcats have now dropped back to .500 in conference play after a promising 1-0 league start, making the remaining conference schedule increasingly important if they hope to close the year on a stronger note. Wilsonville will look to bounce back in their next outing, needing a response to avoid sliding further down the standings as the postseason window begins to narrow.
