Canby Cougars Boys Soccer 2-1 Hillsboro

A second goal proved to be the difference Thursday night as Canby boys soccer held off Hillsboro 2-1 in a 5A-2 Greater Metro Conference matchup played at home in Canby, Oregon. The victory pushes the Cougars to 10-3-1 overall and 4-1 in conference play, keeping them firmly in the hunt for a league title as the regular season winds down. Canby controlled enough of the contest to earn the win, but Hillsboro made things interesting by pulling within one, forcing the Cougars to defend the slim margin through the final minutes. The home crowd had plenty of reason to stay engaged until the final whistle. With the conference standings tightening, every result carries real weight, and Thursday's three points could loom large when playoff seeding is determined. Canby will look to build on this momentum in the coming days, knowing that each remaining league game is a chance to strengthen their postseason position.
