Jefferson Democrats Girls Volleyball 2-3 Benson

Benson pulled out a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Jefferson in girls volleyball on Tuesday, October 20, handing the Democrats a tough loss in a non-league matchup at Benson High School in Portland, Oregon. Jefferson competes in the 6A-1 Portland Interscholastic League, and though both schools call Portland home, this contest fell outside league play. The five-set result tells its own story. Jefferson battled deep into the match, forcing the host Techsters to earn every point before Benson closed it out in the deciding fifth set. It was a competitive showing for a Jefferson squad that has faced a challenging 2026 fall campaign, as the loss drops the Democrats to 5-18 on the season. Despite the record, the ability to push a opponent to five sets reflects genuine fight and resilience from this group. Jefferson will look to carry that competitive edge into its remaining schedule and close the fall season on a strong note.
