Beaverton Beavers Football 35-42 Sunset

The Beavers gave Sunset everything they had Friday night, but it wasn't quite enough, falling 42-35 in a game that was far more competitive than the final score might suggest. Beaverton hung tough throughout, putting 35 points on the board against a Sunset squad that came in with real momentum, and there were stretches where it looked like the upset was firmly in play.
Offensively, the Beavers showed some genuine spark, moving the ball and finding the end zone enough times to make this a legitimate fight. The problem was consistency on the defensive end, as Sunset was able to answer every Beaverton surge and keep just enough daylight between the two teams to hold on when it mattered most. Credit where it's due, this was not a blowout, and the Beavers competed with energy from opening kickoff to final whistle.
Beaverton drops to 0-5 on the season, but if Friday's effort is any indication, the Beavers aren't throwing in the towel. Closing that seven-point gap is going to take some work, and the schedule isn't getting any softer. Still, there's something to build on here, and the home crowd will be watching closely to see if this performance can carry over into next week.
