Banks Braves Boys Soccer 1-1 Scappoose

A hard-fought boys soccer match in Banks, Oregon ended in a 1-1 draw Thursday evening as the Banks Braves hosted Scappoose in Coastal Range League (3A) action. Neither side could pull ahead for good, leaving both teams to split the points in what turned out to be an evenly matched league contest. The Braves now sit at 3-2-3 overall and 1-1 in conference play after the result. The tie keeps Banks in the thick of the league race, though the Braves will need to find a way to close out close matches as the schedule intensifies. Scappoose proved to be a capable opponent, matching Banks step for step through the full 80 minutes. With the second half of the regular season approaching, the Braves have shown they can compete with league competition but will look to convert draws into wins. Banks returns to action next week with another opportunity to build momentum in the Coastal Range League standings.
